Baccarat

Baccarat is pronounced as bah-kur-rah. It is a popular card game, quite easy and great fun to play. Baccarat is probably one of the oldest games ever played in the history of casinos and can be traced back to as long as the 15th Century in France, where it was called punto banco. On almost all the casino floors there is a separate section reserved for Baccarat and it is known as the baccarat pit. A certain dress code has to be followed by the players in the baccarat pit. Another major attraction in the game is the low house edge which is almost 1.06% on the biggest bet.

The Baccarat game is played using a single pack of cards and the main objective of this game is to forecast whether the player or the banker is going to have the total value close to nine. Three types of bets are available: the Banker's, the player's or the tie. The winning hand is the one that holds cards closest to nine. People can bet on any of the three options described above. These terms "banker" or "player" do not particularly refer to anyone but they refer to the different types of hands dealt in the game. And the highest score for the Baccarat game is nine. In the case of two digit number cards, the number in the tens place is dropped.

Baccarat gambling was always considered as the game of the noble and rich. The European origin of the game may have something to do with this popular conception. In any event the bets are quite high, many times starting at $25. You need to decide first whether you can afford to play the game.
