Mini Baccarat

Many players want to try a game of baccarat but find they are either unable or unwilling to do so, for one or more reasons. To a novice, the casino baccarat game - a traditional magnet for sharply dressed high rollers - can be quite daunting. The rules are complex, the table is large and the atmosphere among the players tends to be very tense. Many beginners find the requirement to take a turn acting as banker to all the other players particularly off-putting. Perhaps most importantly, baccarat tables are hard to find at casinos, and where a casino table can be found the minimum bet is usually at least three figures high… and sometimes four!

Fortunately for the aspiring "baccarati", many casinos offer a version of the game called "mini-baccarat" which allows the player to avoid these worries without missing out on all the fun of the game. Mini-baccarat is essentially the game of baccarat with the same odds and rules, but made simpler and more accessible. It is probably the most straightforward table game you can find in a casino. Players do not have to act as the banker, the dealer takes care of this role and so the atmosphere at the table is relaxed. A maximum of only seven players may play simultaneously at a table, and therefore the pace of the game is nicely brisk. Minimum bets can be as low as $10. The table is smaller (usually, a blackjack table is used) and dress codes (common at baccarat tables) are waived. The game is easy to find in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and it is available through most online gambling websites - unlike the "full" version. Unlike the casino version, many online mini-baccarat tables allow a maximum of only six players, and may impose a maximum as low as $1 on bets.

When a player has 7 or 6 and then stands, the Banker will then draw on totals of 5 or less, and will stand on 6 or more. When the Banker has to draw on totals of 0,1 or 2, then look at the rules for the Banker.
